As a business, we have always been rooted in family and community. As a child, my grandfather immigrated to the U.S. from Germany, eventually settling in Ohio.

As a young man, the Findlay Chamber of Commerce asked Grandpa to start a laundry business, which opened its doors on D-Day in 1944. This small business would eventually blossom into City Apparel+Merch, a certified B-Corp and global provider of eco-friendly gear.

Our offices still reside in the same charming building just off Main St. in downtown Findlay, Ohio, where my grandparents happily served the community for years by building a legacy of quality and trust.

My parents Paul and Pam Kramer purchased the family business in 1986

When my father joined the business in 1975, he saw growth potential and evolved the business into City Uniforms and Linens, a garment and linen rental company. My parents purchased the family business in 1986, laying the foundation for what we’ve become today.

After completing my MBA, I joined the family enterprise in 1998. Two years later, City Apparel began to bloom as a third branch of the business.

By 2007, City Apparel was certified as a woman-owned business. In 2016, the time had come to step out on my own. I purchased City Apparel from my family and rebranded the business as City Apparel+Merch.

In 2021, my family made the difficult decision to close the dry cleaners and move its employees to City Uniforms. While this ended one chapter, it started another. I purchased and renovated the building into a sustainably focused, zero-waste facility for City Apparel+Merch to use as our new headquarters.

Today, City Apparel+Merch operates as a one-stop shop for our customers worldwide, providing everything from in-house decoration and fulfillment to custom webstores for easy ordering of branded apparel and merchandise.

We are proud advocates of using business as a force to Do Good, striving to make a meaningful impact in our community and beyond.
